Peace

A poem by Bob Bradley

I.

One time I lost the key
to my favorite memory.
I wanted to visit.
So bad.
I knew all the best parts.
But still, there’s nothing
like the view from here.
Here, where the echoes
play off the old family castle walls.
Find nooks and other crannies
to rebound off of. Sets up a din
of wild unforgettable racket
that borders on music.
A music that takes it all
apart and before it can be put
back together, you get
to choose. Pieces? Parts?
Until with the wind howling, Crevices
and the rain lashing at the storm
windows, you get down on your knees
and ask please—please, please—
show me the fate that awaits thy will
.
