This photo was taken in Kings Canyon National Park. The old trees there are massive. I had to lay on my back to take this photo. I wanted to give a better visual of how tall the trees actually were. The sky through the branches gave it what I was looking for.

Joseph J. Palka III started taking pictures for fun in grade school. More recently he has begun to explore photography as an outlet for his creative self. In addition to his inclusion in the current issue of Cezanne's Carrot, he will have a photo in the upcoming print issue of the Artsbridge Writers' Gallery. Joseph lives in Flemington, New Jersey, where he is a senior at Hunterdon Central Regional High School.
