Elizabeth writes:
I’m interested in the process of personal growth and transformation. There are many indigenous populations as well as religious and spiritual traditions that believe in the power of a shaman, saint, or guru to heal illness on the mental, physical, and/or spiritual planes. In this colored pencil-and-ink drawing, I wanted to depict that intangible moment of magic where the inner world of the healer goes outward to transform. The symbols are from the American Indian tradition.
