"Beginning" is a digital print that combines a numeric algorithm-based form and photography. The creation of forms based on numbers is a fascinating journey of discovery in which I intuitively vary the parameters and zoom in and out of the rendered outcomes until a form captures my artistic eye, the composition is composed, and the image captured. This particular dynamic, yet amorphous shape reminded me of the first word in Genesis. I felt it needed an appropriate spaciousness around it, so I laid the form over one of my photos of a sunset that I had taken in my back yard.

Clyde Grauke is a digital artist and photographer who was born and raised in West Texas. He has been engaged in art and photography all his life. With the advent of computers, he moved from traditional art techniques to an emphasis on digital art, due to the wider range of creative expression computers afforded.
