This is an earlier painting I made when I was living in a fog of emotion and uncertainty. I was, in fact, clarifying, very slowly, the dream of my future. I was also healing old wounds as my emotions trailed from each part of me as I felt as if I were running away from the past.

Ellen McMahill graduated with a BA in Art from Florida State University in 1973, only to find that there were many roads to travel before art would be the center of her life. Experiences she had and the beliefs that arose enriched her artistic expression. For seventeen years, she wove tapestries and participated in shows in Florida and the southeast. But the best was yet to come with an inspiration to paint in acrylics in 2003 and to move to Los Angeles to discover much more about painting and being an artist.
